City of Dalton's 2022 budget includes significant pay increases for employees

After the meeting, council members held a reception for Gary Crews, who is leaving the council on Dec. 31 after 11 years. Crews said that to the best he can remember he missed just one council meeting in that time. Crews also had more than 200 hours of training from the Georgia Municipal Association and the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government.

Biden's ambitious broadband funding has a key impediment: an outdated map of who needs it

Georgia has released its own maps which can report down to the location of a home, office or community building if an area is served or underserved. Broadband service must be available to more than 80 percent of locations in a census block for it to be served in the new map.
