City officials from across Georgia updated their governing skills through continuing education classes presented by University of Georgia Institute of Government faculty and other experts at the 90th Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) Annual Convention, held June 23-27 at the Savannah Convention Conference Center.
When Linda D. Hays was growing up in Newton County, the thought of running for political office never crossed her mind. Hays' path, however, led her to become the Clerk of Superior Court for her hometown -- a position she has held since 1983.
Thomson-McDuffie is welcoming its new University of Georgia Archway Partnership faculty member Sarah Adams, following Sam Perren's promotion to Operations Coordinator earlier this year. Adams, a Watkinsville native, has served as the Archway Professional in Colquitt County since 2018.
